High-Efficiency Dust Separation Using The Cimbria Cyclofan
The Cimbria Cyclofan is a machine that combines a fan and a highly efficient mechanical dust separator into a single unit.
In new builds dust control is a high priority, with air pick ups on all machines and usually conveyance. In most scenarios the Cimbria Cyclofan is a great choice. In existing or older plants it only takes a minute being in the plant to know if the dust control is good or bad.
In the picture below the Cimbria Cyclofan was added during a plant reconfiguration. Available from 10-30HP up to 17,500CFM. This 30HP unit with good ductwork design is providing needed aspiration and dust control.
The fan component of the Cyclofan generates a strong air flow, which can be used for a variety of purposes, most commonly for aspiration and dust control. The mechanical dust separator is designed to remove dust and other particles from the air stream.
Cimbria Cyclofan uses a centrifugal force to separate the dust particles from the airflow. In a rotating airstream, which is obtained by a specially designed centrifugal impeller and increased by means of guide vanes.
The cleaned air is then discharged through the end silencer (some fine light dust travels with that air, a consideration for install location.)
By combining two functions into a single machine, the Cimbria Cyclofan provides an efficient and effective solution for dust separation and air flow. This makes it a popular choice for many seed cleaners and processors.
The powerful rotation hurls the dust particles against the cylinder walls, where the dust-laden air is separated from the rest of the air in the separation section and led to the mini-cyclone.
In conclusion, the Cyclofan combined with good duct planning and install will help keep your Cleaning and processing lines clean, and provide the needed aspiration for the machines to perform as they are supposed to. Below is an example of the Pre-suction screenings on a Cimbria Delta 107 Air and Screen. As I was told once an Air and Screen Cleaner without proper air is just a sifter shaker 😀
